Sophia Foundation

The Sophia Foundation for Health, Education and Development was founded by Mr. Vincent Otu Osang and located in No. 10 Okuku Road, Igoli Ogoja in Cross River State. Its primary focus is the provision of essential amenities in rural and semi rural areas of Cross River State. It commenced its activities since May 23rd, 2004 and has since been working with communities in the State in the following areas:

• Formulation and initiation of projects through the use of effective strategies for project implementation geared towards poverty alleviation for the less privileged

• Appraisal of applications for projects, using eligibility criteria set out by a board of trustees to determine project viability

• Supervising, monitoring and evaluation of projects for benefitting communities

• Carrying out public enlightenment campaigns and mobilizing communities towards adequate sitting and execution of projects

• Collaborating with other creditable NGOs, Local Governments and Community-based Institutions to ensure proper implementation of programs
